Ruin

Utilization

Suburb is the right place for factories. However lifes changes so factories from 1800, early 1900 are already in the centers as cities grow… It is fine for most cities – these buildings are perfect for loft flats or for art exhibition areas.
Hungarian people are smart one so we rather made a “nice” parking space from this building. Probably I’ve just got tired from all these sad stuff so these pictures could help you less introducing you the place. Hope still the pictures give you joy!

Misunderstanding

This house is facing the big Synagogue. It is not close to get demolished rather neglected. A renovation would be great.
Here is the translation for the third picture: do not litter here! Some of us must be clever and found the “perfect” place for litter (picture 4 & 5)!

Life and death

I made this picture late night. Besides the lights there was no much sign of life. The noise of the street couldn’t get in, you could hear only some shred of words.
It was a really interesting feeling. A dead house and its leaving inhabitants. In the middle of the city in silence.

Installation

Ráday street. Center. Every night full of people. Open air cafeterias.
And something different. I have no idea how it can be possible.
Ok, it must be an installation. Gulash soup, pálinka and installation of the Hungarian reality for tourists!

Memories

Pictures from the interior.
Signs of destruction, ruins. Seems the place is deserted for years. In the center of Budapest. The building is open, anyone can enter.
However if you open your eyes you will see beautiful details, real materials. After closing your eyes you can imagine how the building looked like. You see something nice where people enjoy to live.
That is an idea I’ve rarely got from currently built houses…

Welcome

Tourism is a really important business for most cities. There is quite a big competition for tourist. How can we compete? For example we can have an old city center perfectly restorated.
So you would be REALLY surprised finding something I captured. Actually visiting Budapest you can find similar building and environment easily…
Can’t describe how sad I am… In the following days you will see some really sad pictures about building of Budapest.

Empty

This place is so old that I have my own memories about it. I had great time there. I remember that sometimes crickets and performers were fighting who is louder :)
Not much has left…

Still life

My next series still happens at Budapest. It is a still life – however there is no much life. As it is dead.
It is te ‘Budai parkszinpad’. It was an open air theatre where we had great concerts, big life. Now …

More boats

I could found one more source of old boats at island of Mull. Here I worked on three of them at once.
Again, a series has ended. I still have lots of picture about Scotland. However I would like to go back to Budapest topic. More Scotland later…

Which ones?

We can see easily that this is the last port of this ship. It is much harder to see which is the last ‘port’ of our pictures!
Knowing when to finish editing of you pictures you need wisdom and lots of experience. I found quite satisfying the original version of the shots I’ve uploaded now. Still I wanted to add something that match the mood of my topic.
Which one do you prefer? Did I found the right moment to finish editing?
